One of the reasons for us to be in Miami was for Don to perform Nicodemus at the Florida Baptist Children’s Home, a home for foster kids.
They had asked us to do this for the kids on Sunday afternoon. There were about a dozen kids with their house parents present. We parked the RV on a concrete pad on the property, set up our props on a patio behind the house and preformed Nicodemus for them.

It’s hard to see these kids whose parents don’t want to provide homes for them for numerous reasons. Most of these kids will never have a normal family or home outside of this foster home.
Of the kids present, most were receptive to the message, but a couple of them obviously did not want to be there. They will stay in our hearts and prayers.
Next we went to Miami Beach. There was a restaurant there that had been recommended to us.
On the way, I was impressed by the large numbers of high rise condos/apartments. I couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like up there during a hurricane.
The sun reflected off this building, which was striking. The other buildings are not crooked, blame it on camera angle.
The rooftop on these buildings I found interesting. Think maybe it keeps them from sailing off during hurricanes?
Next we found ourselves at the Miami Marina and the famous South Beach. The marina was jammed full of expensive boats and yachts.
There was this one high-rise on South Beach that was different from the others, It was terra-cotta colored and stood out against the blue sky.
Then a cruise ship came out from it’s port heading out to sea.
Lots of people were standing out on the decks of the ship waving. I did have to wonder about the guy (on the right) who seems to be about ready to “walk the plank.” Maybe this is why I have never taken a cruise…
A lot of people were sitting on the grass along the water watching the boats and ships, so there were plenty of folks to wave back at the cruise ship folks.
We were early for our dinner reservations so we walked along the marina toward South Beach for a while. The sun was beginning to set which was nice. There are lots more condos across the bay in the background.
It was getting close to time for our dinner, so we headed back toward the restaurant. The sun was setting over the marina so it was really a nice time of the evening.
Once again the sun reflected off of high rise buildings as the sun was setting.
Our restaurant, the Texas de Brazil Steakhouse, was impressive. Very attractive with great service. There is a huge “salad bar” with everything imaginable (I could have been happy with nothing more than that!) and then they brought your meat to your table…
...on these huge skewers. It was rack of lamb, chicken, Brazilian sausage, pork, filet mignon, and top sirloin. There was probably more, but that is all I remember. You just told them what you wanted and how you wanted it cooked and they would slice it. You would take little tongs and put it onto your plate.
It was one of those dining “experiences” that you don’t do very often, but enjoy talking about for a long time. The food was wonderful! We were seated next to the window overlooking the marina, and from here I got my final picture of the day.
